This year, the country reports made it clear that almost every member institute is focused on preparing the workforce for the impact of AI; among those who noted a second priority, it was usually sustainability. Our broad engagement allows us to see that these issues are affecting the sector almost uniformly.
This issue of APABI Focus looks at talent & skills development. I have sought out participation from as broad a cross-section of our members as possible, since this topic is relevant to all training institutes. KBI (Korea) and IBSL (Sri Lanka) have contributed specially-commissioned pieces for this newsletter.
Furthermore, Singapore and the UK have produced detailed roadmaps for the future of financial work. Both reports emphasize that with the broad impact of AI across organizations, but especially concentrated in the early stage of the pipeline, the challenge in financial services is moving from technological transformation to one of workforce transformation. These detailed surveys can help guide the long-term direction of our planning.
I want to once again thank our Cambodian host IBFKH, as well as everyone else who made the August meeting a success!
Regards,

David Stinson
